In keeping with the stress relief theme this month, I’d like to introduce you to a wonderful stress reliever called Reiki.
Reiki is a non-invasive form of energy medicine that balances the body, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, enabling the body to do what it does best — heal itself. Reiki assists in accelerating healing from injury/illness, promotes relaxation and stress reduction, reduces or eliminates pain. Reiki strengthens the immune system, assists in clearing emotional or physical trauma, and offers quality of life support for those who are aging or in hospice care.
Western medicine is finally starting to take notice of the benefits of Reiki.
Dr. Mehmet Oz revealed his Ultimate Alternative Medicine Secrets for 2010 during his nationally broadcast afternoon talk show. He ranked Reiki #1.
Dr. Oz said, “Reiki is one of my favorites, we’ve been using it for years in the Oz family, and we swear by it.”
But how does it work?
Working as a Reiki healer, this is a question I get asked all the time.
Think of yourself as a lightbulb in a lamp, if you will. The cord is the Reiki Healer and the power outlet in the wall is Reiki. The Healer plugs in to the Reiki to “light you up.”
You don’t even have to be in the same location to experience the benefits. I am one of the biggest skeptics around and I had a hard time wrapping my head around this notion too, but after some experiments with people (and their pets!) here in Calgary as well as in other parts of the world, I now know this to be true! If you’ve never experienced the benefits of Reiki before or would like to learn more, now is the time!
